Curriculum at Aldridge School

Welcome to Aldridge School's Curriculum Overview

At Aldridge School, we are committed to providing a comprehensive and balanced curriculum that caters to the diverse needs and aspirations of our students. Our curriculum is designed to inspire a love for learning, foster deep and critical thinking, embed key knowledge into long-term memories and prepare students for future challenges.

Our vision is to provide an outstanding education that inspires all of our young people to excel in the classroom and beyond.

Our mission is to challenge and support our young people to fulfil their potential and to discover their unique talents in an educational setting where they will thrive and be happy.

Key Features of Our Curriculum:

  • Broad and Balanced: We offer a wide range of subjects that ensure students receive a well-rounded education. From the core subjects of Mathematics, English, and Science to the creative arts, humanities, and physical education, our curriculum is both diverse and inclusive.
  • The development of knowledge: Knowledge is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth. At Aldridge School, we believe that a deep and broad understanding of various subjects empowers students to make informed decisions, solve complex problems, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Knowledge fosters curiosity, encourages lifelong learning, and opens doors to a world of opportunities. By mastering knowledge, our students are equipped to navigate the challenges of the modern world and to become thoughtful, innovative, successful and responsible citizens.
  • Skill Development: Beyond academic knowledge, we emphasise the development of essential life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. Our aim is to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
  • Extracurricular Opportunities: We believe in the importance of holistic education. Our extensive range of extracurricular activities, including sports, music, art and drama clubs, provides students with opportunities to explore their passions and develop new talents.

Mastering Knowledge and Teacher Assessments:

At Aldridge School, we place a strong emphasis on mastering knowledge at every stage of education. Our curriculum is designed to identify key learning necessary in order to achieve success. This knowledge is referred to as constructs. These constructs build a solid foundation in key stage 3, which is then expanded and deepened as students progress through the key stages.

We invite you to explore our curriculum further and see how Aldridge School can provide your child with an enriching and fulfilling educational experience.
