The progress 8 score for a school is the average of the pupil scores across 8 subjects; English, Mathematics and three other English Baccalaureate (EBacc) subjects (Science, Computer Science, Geography, History and Languages). Also three further subjects, which can be from the range of EBacc subjects, or can be any other approved, high-value arts, academic or vocational qualification.

Attainment 8 is the students’ average achievement across the same eight subjects as Progress 8.

GCSE / A Level Exam Certificate Collection
GCSE and A Level Certificates from the Summer 2025 season are now available for collection
Please make an appointment in order to collect certificates by contacting exams@ald.merciantrust.org.uk. Certificates will be available to collect during school hours and only issued if an appointment has been made. Please ensure you bring a piece of photo identification with you.
If you are unable to collect certificates in person, please complete the form below nominating a third party to collect. This person must bring a piece of photo identification with them.
3rd Party Certificate Collection
It is important to emphasise that exam certificates are collected as they are very important documents that are likely to be needed throughout your career path.
School is only legally obliged to keep certificates for a 12-month period after which time they are disposed of. If copies of certificates are needed after that time, pupils will need to contact the appropriate examination board(s) directly and pay to obtain replacements.
