Fire & Security Careers Fair
Year 10 pupils from Aldridge School attended the Fire and Security Careers Fair at Birmingham City Football Ground, where they explored the wide range of careers available within the Fire and Security sector.
Throughout the day, pupils had the opportunity to meet apprentices and industry professionals who shared their own career journeys. One visitor explained how she originally studied hair and make‑up after leaving school, later discovering her passion lay elsewhere—she is now an engineer working within the security industry.
Students also took part in several engaging hands‑on activities, including a smoke screen demonstration, reaction time challenges, and a steady‑hand test. These activities helped pupils gain a deeper understanding of the skills used across the sector.
Pupils were also able to receive advice on their CVs and practise answering interview questions. To top off an already exciting experience, they returned equipped with bags of merchandise to support their studies.
Aldridge School would like to thank Skills for Security for organising this valuable and inspiring event.
